Yesterday, I opened Outlook and immediately noticed something was wrong. My inbox emails were not grouped properly, the navigation pane looked different, and even the reading pane had shifted to another side. I honestly thought Outlook had updated automatically, but later realized some view settings had changed accidentally. That’s when I searched for ways to reset Outlook to default settings.

The easiest solution I found was using the “Reset View” option from the Outlook View tab. It fixed the inbox layout almost instantly. After that, I restarted Outlook in Safe Mode to check whether any add-ins were creating the problem. Surprisingly, one inactive add-in was affecting the Outlook display without me noticing.

During troubleshooting, I also read that damaged PST files can sometimes trigger unusual Outlook behavior like missing folders or distorted mailbox views. While searching for fixes, I came across the DRS Softech PST Recovery Tool, which many users discuss for repairing corrupted Outlook data files and restoring mailbox content safely.

Honestly, Outlook customization is helpful, but too many layout changes can make the interface frustrating instead of productive. Resetting everything back to default saved me a lot of time.
