How to resolve compatibility issues between Excel contacts and the latest vCard formats?

I am trying to convert a large list of contacts stored in an Excel spreadsheet into the latest vCard format so I can import them into my phone and other email applications. However, I am running into compatibility issues where some fields (like phone numbers, addresses, and notes) either do not map correctly or appear missing after the conversion. I suspect the problem might be related to differences between Excel column formatting and the newer vCard versions (like vCard 3.0 or 4.0). I have tried a couple of basic conversion methods, but the results are inconsistent, and some contact details are not preserved properly. Has anyone experienced this issue before? What is the best way to resolve compatibility problems between Excel contact fields and the latest vCard formats to ensure all data is transferred accurately?

Because different devices and applications support different vCard formats, importing contacts from XLS to vCard can result in difficulties with compatibility. I faced this problem when I tried to move my Excel contacts to my smartphone, and some contact details were not showing correctly. After that, I used OSTtoPSTAPP Excel to vCard Converter, and it helped me solve the compatibility problem easily.
The software is designed to export XLS Contacts to vCard in a proper format so the contacts work smoothly with modern devices. It also ensures that all contact fields from XLSX are correctly arranged in the vCard structure during conversion.
While using the tool, I found several helpful features:
  • Multiple vCard Version Support – It ensures all vCard 2.1, 3.0, and 4.0 version so you can choose the version compatible with your device or application.
  • Smart Field Mapping – Correctly matches Excel columns with vCard fields to prevent data errors.
  • Preview Contacts Before Conversion – Lets you review all contact details before exporting.
  • Batch Conversion Option – Convert multiple Excel contact files at once without repeating the process.
  • Selective Contact Export – Helps export only the required contacts instead of the whole file.
  • Duplicate Contact Handling – stops duplication of data from the VCF file.
  • Windows Compatibility – Works smoothly with all Windows versions.
In my experience, it ensures that the generated vCard files work correctly with contemporary platforms like Android, iPhone, Gmail and Outlook and makes Excel contact conversion much easier.
