SVG images are not displayed in gmail

I have svg logo/icon in an email along with Png logo. But gmail unable to load svg logo in chrome browser.I checked in firefox and chrome and none of them works.The chrome error is The requested URL /proxyxxx was not found on this server.

SVG is great, but I would be hesitant to use it in email because you run the risk of it not being supported.

For me, the problem was in using svg images. I converted them to png and it worked.
